I have always thought of where boundless loneliness comes from. While thinking about this answer, my thoughts turned the creatures that might feel the deepest loneliest, the stars. Stars have the most beautiful existence. But even if they show us a smiling light from distant space, they cannot speak to us, they cannot speak to anyone. Although it seems like each stars is close to the next, they are each millions of miles apart, shining alone in the dark. Can even know of their own light? Of how we look up at them and smile? Of the care the world has taken for all of time to carefully map out each one, to name them and remember them for how they are. I made this moment for the stars that love, lonely, from millions of miles away, and for the people who feel a million miles away from love. Your light can be brighter than loneliness.
