The space of a house is made to be a safe place, a shelter for your body, and a warm place for your soul. A house is meant to let you rest and help you welcome in something new with comfort. However, homes are not always warm, they do not always let you grow. The light that can be seen from of outside does not always speak true of the cold, uncomfortable environment that can be within. I describe this discomfort as a light that is too bright to look at. The glow of the home does not nurture those who are inside. In this way I work to make invisible, isolating trauma unbearably bright and impossible to ignore.
