Between tangle of human beings, lives rushing past each other, each one of us is passionately feeling pain and then happiness again, connection and isolation, preoccupation and miscommunication. Within all of this, every place has it own meaning. In this piece, I introduced the space where I tried to commit suicide for the first time as a monument, capturing that moment as I felt it. The world within this piece is empty but the symbol of a paper ship placed on a pedestal as if it was an ancient sculpture, something from the past that exist now only through its preservation. This paper ship is a symbol of hope and dreams preserved for another day. This piece is viewed in a dark room through a narrow window around the box. The land grows and when it is time, rain pours from the sky. After the rain calms the water is left to drip and pool in the landscape until the rain comes again.
